Description
Discover the world of garden animals with the common Papo lizard.
There are over 4,000 species of this small reptile worldwide! They are found on every continent except Antarctica.
Lizards shed their skin regularly, have four legs with five toes on each, a long tail, and a body covered in scales. They are cold-blooded animals. Their body temperature varies according to their environment. Sunlight is therefore vital for them to recharge their batteries (which is why they are often found on slabs or stone walls, especially drystone walls, which provide them with hiding places), but above a certain temperature, they need shade to cool off. Lizards are insectivores.
