Design: Ole Flensted
Inspired by Trapholt Artmuseum, Flensted Mobiles have created a new classic mobile, Flying Chairs, that is in keeping with Danish Design's proud traditions of creating unique chairs. With Flying Chairs, Ole Flensted extends a greeting to Arne Jacobsen, Børge Mogensen, Finn Juhl, Poul Kjaerholm and others of the great chair makers in danish furniture design. Though Flying Chairs is not for sitting, it is very comfortable to sit and observe it while letting your mind drift.
The common feature of all Flensted Mobiles is their timelessness, but there is a wide range of themes. There are representational subjects like birds, fish and elephants. At the other end of the range, there are the abstract mobiles. Who else but Ole Flensted could imagine a Mozart Symphony in three movements as a mobile? Music is perhaps the closest to mobiles with their balance, rhythm and constant movement.
Made in Denmark. Comes in a beautiful "gift" box.
