Description
The black bear is also called baribal. This bear lives in North America and is found in a geographical area that extends from northern Canada and Alaska to northern Mexico, and from the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean to the coasts of the Pacific Ocean of North America. He loves forests and mountains where he finds his food and can hide. Long hunted for its fur, it is now suffering from the reduction of its natural environment by humans.
The black bear is omnivorous, although its diet is dominated by plants. Contrary to popular belief, he is a good swimmer and easily climbs trees to escape danger.
